Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

The author

Acclaimed writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

A spokesman for the firm stated: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was reached following an investigation into claims about conduct deemed unsuitable involving female individuals.

The firm declined to specify the reasons for its decision, adding: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books combined, encompassing a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
