Hulu to Bring a Popular Game TV Show from the Minds of the Alien Series and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The latest action-packed game that gamers explored was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and came out on October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it is known for embracing violence and insanity with the same enthusiasm, all while weaving captivating, politically driven tales. Little surprise that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry limited-run show attracted two visionaries whose creations have embodied all of those things.

About the Series

Inspired by Ubisoft's successful video game property, the limited anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The show will also mirror the video games' format by having a new backdrop and ensemble in every instalment.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as showrunners on the series via their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had outstanding relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is fresh, gripping, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our collaborators at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this popular property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also feature in the show, but as of now, we do not know what role that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just greenlit for another season, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the showrunner.

“Having the opportunity alongside Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally generous, entrusting us with one of the most famous video-game worlds ever created. And along the way, my FX team always encourages me with their ongoing confidence and support.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology-style show. Every title is a variation of a concept, the same way every run of Fargo is a adaptation on a premise,” said Hawley. “To develop a large-scale action show that can evolve from year to year, while always examining the essence of society through this multifaceted and unpredictable perspective, is a long-held aspiration. I’m eager to work with Rob and introduce our mutual bold, visionary sensibility to the audience.”

A time frame for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
