Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Alleged Abuse Claims Connected to Player Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment Wednesday night confirming they are aware of claims of abuse made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of player the athlete and had been in communication with the league office.
The team did not mention the player specifically in their statement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice directly, posted a set of images on social media that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the team drafted in the second round.

No police reports were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have occurred.
Player's Prior Off-Field Troubles
The receiver missed the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that resulted in multiple people hurt. He was given 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
On the field, Rice finished the season with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Kansas City went 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
